In 1880 Clay County, Kansas, Anna Putnam is 7, with parents William and Ellen Putnam. Siblings are Harriet 17, Bertha 11, Llellyn 4, William H. 2, and Abby 1.

William 1839-1913 and Ella A. Putnam 1843-1916 are buried in Manhattan, Kanss # 23664253.

Annie E. VanHouten, born August 1873 in Illinois, is in Norton County, Kansas in 1900, with William Van Houten They've just been married, and are next to his parents. William is 33, born in Michigan.
In 1880 Republic County, Kansas, Edger McKie is 42, Elizabeth 36, with Grace 16, Samuel 14, Thamos 12, Larkin 9, Babe 6, Harry 4, and Louis 1.


Glenn J. McKie was born June 1882, the son of Edgar McKie and Mary Elizabeth Smith (died in Norton County, Kansas).
In 1884 the Republic County, Kansas index has Edgar McKie farming 160 acres in section 19, Seapo township, In 1900 Republic County, Kansas, Glen J. born June 1882 in Kansas, is with Edgar 61 and Mary E. 55, and brother Lewis 21.
One tree said Edgar died Sept 2, 1904 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Republic County, Kansas.
"Edward McKie was born in Montgomery county, New York, in 1839 and died in Concordia September 2. 1904. In 1870 he and his family came from Missouri to Republic county where they have resided near Talmo ever since. The remains were interred at Wayne September 3. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all who know them."
It also says that Mary died Jan 1, 1925 and is buried in Edmond, Kansas, Norton County.

FindAGrave # 29706981 has Louis S. McKie born April 10, 1882 dying August 16, 1923, buried in Union Cemetery, Block 29, Lot 5.
The tree said Louis Sharkey McKie died August 16, 1923 in Wray, Colorado. In 1920 Akron, Colorado Louis 49, born in Kansas, is running a cream staton, with Julia 31, Kansas. John is 5, and Forest 3, both born in Nebraska.
Julia McKie married John Lueking December 20, 1925, recorded in Yuma County.

In 1930 Wray, Julia Lueking is 42, keeping a lodging house. Sons John M. McKie 15 and Forrest W. 14 are with her.
John and Julia Lueking divorced in Yuma County in 1931.

One poster wrote "my step-great grandfather was John Kalivoda, a farmer in the plains of Colorado... died in late 1960's, or early 70's. His second wife was Elizabeth Brophy... both were farmers near Wray/Yuma, Colorado"

Ruth Twiss, daughter of Robert and Inda Twiss, married Glen E. Kalivoda, living in Pueblo.

October 5, 1981 Pueblo "Glenn Kalivoda, Pueblo, Colo., was born in Republic County July 7,1918, son of John and Rose Hess Kalivoda, and died in a Denver hospital October 3,1981. He was 63. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 38 years. He retired December 19, 1980. He was married to Alma Ruth Twiss. Two sons were born to this union. She died April 18, 1959. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darrell. He is survived by his wife, Joan; a son, Jerald Kalivoda; a step-daughter, Mrs. Martin (Nancy) Adams; five grandchildren. Services were held October 7 at McCarthy Almont Drawing Room, Pueblo, Colo., conducted by the Rev. Eddie Kelemeni."

2005 "Jerald Kalivoda of Nathrop and Deborah Colbert of Salida, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristy Kalivoda, to John Roszel, son of Christopher and Rita Roszel of Burrton, Kan. Step-parents of the bride-elect are Arthur Colbert, Salida and Nopavan Kalivoda, Nathrop.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Salida High School. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Sterling College in 2002 and is employed at Main Place Youth, Inc., a Teen Challenge girls' home in Kingman, Kan. The groom-elect is a 1994 graduate of Burrton High School and is employed by Hardwood Manufacturing in Burrton. He is also employed part-time at Main Place Youth, and will join Kristy as a full-time staff member after their wedding. They will be married Sept. 24, 2005, in Salida and will make their home in Kingman."

1939 Belleville Kansas "Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hudson and John McKie of Wray, Colo., Miss Minnie Mae Hamlin of Haigler, Neb., visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kalivoda and family Sunday. "
John is married to Minnie in 1940 Denver, and he's a sausage maker. Forrest 24 is living with them. Minnie ws in Dundy County, Nebraska in 1935, John and Forrest in Yuma COunty.
John Marlin McKie born April 16, 1914, died June 14, 1944, buried at Green City Missouri. He's buried in Green City # 8370069. Julia Hudson of Denver filed the application for the headstone.
He was reported killed in action in France, 1st Lieutenant. Next of kin, Mrs. Minnie McKie, widow, Green City, c/o D. Hamill.
" John's wife, Minnie Mae McKie, was burned to death in a motor car accident near Chillicothe last year (1947), after arrangements for the return of the body had been made."
Forrest Wayne McKie 1916-1999, Lt Col U.S. Army, WWII and Korea, is buried in Arlington National # 49255909.
1947 Belleville "The following out-of-town relatives attended funeral services for John Kalivoda, sr.: Mrs. Barbara Moore, Kansas City, Mo.; John E. Kalivoda and Kenneth, Wray, Colo.; Glen E. Kalivoda and family, Pueblo, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hudson, Denver, Colo.; and Major Forrest McKie, Lompoc, California."

1957 Belleville, Kansas "Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hudson, grandsons, Johnny and Danny McKie of Denver, Colo., have returned to their home after a 10 -day visit here with Mrs. Hudsons relatives, the Kalivoda families."

1960 Belleville, Kansas "Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hudson and grandson, John McKie, Madaline Hornuehek of West Minister, Colo, spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Regnier and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kalivoda and Cuba relatives."

Glen Jacob McKie registered for WWI in Brush, Colorado, a beet-tender working for John Kreig. He was born June 20, 1882, nearest relative Mrs. Anna Elizabeth McKie.
In 1920 Denver, Glen J. Mckie is working for an express company, 37, born in Kansas, with Anna E. 46 Illinois. They have Edgar L. 8, Nebraska, Ellen E. 4 Kansas, and Glen J. Jr. 2, Colorado.
In 1930 Wray, Glen is working on the public roads, - he and Anna have just the three kids.
BENJAMIN ORRIN MCKIE
In 1905 Norton County, Kansas, B.O. McKie is 31, Mry 30, with Vernon 4 and Ralph 2.
In 1920 Wray, Ben O. McKie and Mary E. are 45, with Vernon O. 18, Ralph R. 17, Harold E. 14, and Cuba J. 8., everybody born in Kansas.
Harold and Cuba are in Phoenix Arizona in 1930, Harold a carpenter.
Cuba Irene McKee is in Phoenix in 1940, no occupation 24.
Ralph McKie is also in Phoenix in 1940, married to Mabel 26, with Louise 2 and "Caba" 1.
1938 Phoenix "Born to Mr. and Mrs Ralph R. McKie, 1214 East Polk street, a daughter, in the Eva Harris Maternity Home, December 5. "

Babe McKie was running a cream station in Wray in the 1910's. 1917 "B.O. McKie, who formerly resided north of Laird, has taken charge of teh Farmers' Hotel north of the depot and has arranged it to serve the public."
In 1917 the Haigler News reported "Babe McKie came up from Wray last Saturday. His mother, who was sick, accompanied them home." B.O. Mckie was in 1917 advertisitn "FARMERS HOTEL - Am now prepared to serve meals. North of depot."
Benjamin Orin McKie was among the WWI registrants from Wray.

Harold E. "Mac" McKie 1905-1970 is buried in Springerville, Arizona # 33086049.

1923 Wray "The L.E. McKie family are quite ill with the flu this week."

(Maybe they were in Yuma County because of her relatives "William and Ella Putnam had a homestead in Dundy Co when he was 70 years old -- 1910. It is referenced on the family tree, but it is believed they didn't come to Dundy Co. until they were older. They probably moved there to be closer to their children, Wm. Henry, Llewellyn, and Eunice, who were living in Dundy County.
William Henry Putnam was appointed Judge of Dundy County Court in 1938 and served until 1953. He is listed in the 1940 edition of Who's Who in Nebraska. He was the son of Wm Henry Harrison Putnam and Ella A. Hamilton. He married Bessie C. Allison on May 23, 1903 in Manhattan, Kansas. Judge Putnam's extended family includes the DeGarmo and Laughlin families, also from Dundy County
Llewellyn and Cassie Putnam also homesteaded in Dundy County. He was a son to William Henry Harrison Putnam and a brother to Judge Wm. Henry Putnam. ")


Anna E. McKie stock-claimed 120 acres in 18, 2S 42W in 1933. Eighty acres was owned by Mrs. Irving Shuel in 1920.

Annie stock-claimed 40 acres in 10, 1S 43W in 1933 - this tract bordered Brown and Weller in 1920.



Glen J. Mckee died 1936, and is buried in Wray - in the secton there is Glen in space 2, Gerald Walker in 5, Lena SWalker in 7, and Eli Walker in 8.

In 1940 San Gabriel, California, Anna E. McKie is 68, widowed, born in Illinois, lodging with the Charles and Amy Wilkiming couple. Charles 55 Illinois, Amy S. 45 Colorado. Also with them is her daughter Ellen Strickler, a bookkeeper , 24, Kansas - Both Anna and Ellen were in Wray in 1935.
Edgar is in Glendale, California in 1940, a salesman in a grocery store, married to Francis 22, Nebraska, and they have Lynn E. 2, son born in California. Edgar, born Dec 4, 1912 in Nebraska, died July 6, 1995 in Ventura County, mother's maiden name Putnam.
Ellen McKie Davis of California married Kenneth G. Stuecklen of Nebraska, in Las Vegas June 9, 1970.
Ellen M. Stuecklen, born Nov 16, 1915, died Jan 27, 2003, last address Phoenix, Arizona.
Chicago Tribune February 13, 2003 "Ellen Elizabeth McKie Stuecklen, businesswoman, beloved wife of the late Kenneth G. Stuecklen; loving mother of Paul Davis, M.D. and Glenn Davis; dear grandma of Katherine P. Davis and Paul Davis III; devoted sister of the late Edgar and Tim McKie; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Retired President of Stuecklen Mfg. Co. Funeral Feb. 14, 1:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Cumberland and Belmont, River Grove. 708-453-0184."

Glen J. is also in Glendale California in 1940, 23, married to Florince B. 21, and they have Michael C., 1.
Glen Jacob McKie, born March 18, 1918 in Colorado, died May 23, 1996 in Los Angeles County, mother's maiden name Pullman.
Frank G. McKee had timber-claimed a quarter in 27, 1N 43W in 1899. Maggie E. Kimber - formerly Maggie McKee timber-claimed a quarter in 33, 1N 43W in 1895.
Hugh McKee had cash-claimed a quarter in 6, 1N 43W and 31, 2N 43W in 1890.
John D. McKee had timber-claimed a quarter in 32, 1N 43W in 1895.
